About Us
Meet Erin
The creator behind Newport Families is a Newport mom who wanted a simplified way to find activities and events for her son, Emerson. In searching for and attending events, she realized there wasn't just one easy place to find all that was available to local families.
As a former educator and travel blogger, and current social media and web content manager, Erin decided she could start the community she was looking for. In October 2022, Newport Families was born and quickly received traction and positive feedback from families and local businesses.
How we got started
When we moved to Rhode Island, we quickly realized something that makes Aquidneck Island and Newport County stand out: community. Each business is so supportive of each other, and we wanted to be a part of that.
What better way to do that than to connect local families to local, small businesses. From there, Newport Families was born!
What we do
Our goal is to connect families with local events and businesses to make the most of their time with their families. Why you should trust us? Erin has been working with companies as a travel blogger and social media manager and consultant since 2010. She believes in authenticity and organic growth.
